THE HISTORY OF TREŠNJEVKA MUSIC: Gathering material for the virtual collection of the Trešnjevka Neighborhood Museum
Tuesday, April 28, 2026
2 – 6 p.m.
Nova BAZA, Nova cesta 66
First days of summer 1957. Božica Kalafatić attends the second grade of the ‘Bratstvo i jedinstvo’ elementary school, today ‘Kralja Tomislava’ school, while also attending music lessons in Mošćenička Street. In the photo she is standing in the middle of the first row, with an accordion in her hands.
From school music sections and choirs, to chanson, to alternative underground, to big concerts in Dom Sportova Hall – Trešnjevka’s music history has been varied and rich.
Did you sing in a choir? Do you have an old photo of you with your guitar, sitting on a bench in your neighborhood? Do you keep your Dom Sportova concert tickets? Do you have other memories of your Trešnjevka youth, going out, hanging out, having fun?
Please, share your memories with us in the virtual collection of the Trešnjevka Neighborhood Museum. We have already published more than 650 photographs, clothing items, documents, memorabilia, and other objects that tell the less known history of the neighborhood – the history of the working class, family, sports, everyday life, housing and socializing. We are collecting items and memories from the period until the end of the 1990s.
We will be waiting for you on Tuesday, April 28, from 2 – 6 p.m. in Nova BAZA (Nova cesta 66), where we will be collecting your items and stories. The items will be photographed and immediately returned to you.
Take a look at our collection and get more information at www.muzejsusjedstvatresnjevka.org, and for all additional questions contact us at blok@blok.hr or via Facebook.
