SREDNJACI, JARUN, KNEŽIJA: Expanding the Trešnjevka Neighborhood Museum Virtual Collection

GAJEVO COMMUNITY CENTER (Koprivnička 47)

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 27, 2024

10 AM – 1 PM, 4 PM – 8 PM

Dear neighbors,

If you live in tall buildings in Braće Domany Street and in the broader area comprising Srednjaci, Jarun, and Knežija, we kindly invite you to share with us memories from your neighborhood!

The virtual collection of the Trešnjevka Neighborhood Museum already features more than 500 family photographs, documents, clothing items, workers’, sports, school, and other items that are in some way connected to Trešnjevka’s history. If you want your memories to be recorded as part of the virtual collection, we invite you to bring them and help us further build the neighborhood museum that will give value to stories that are not part of the official history.

If you do not own a tangible item, but you live (or you used to live) in one of the tall buildings in Braće Domany Street and you wish to share with us your experience of living there, we kindly invite you to visit us and talk about it! Together with artist Maja Marković, we are closely examining those buildings and the way in which people lived there before, compared to nowadays.

We will be waiting for you on Wednesday, November 27, from 10 AM until 1 PM; and from 4 to 8 PM on the premises of the Gajevo community center (Koprivnička Street 47), where we will take photographs of your items and record your stories. All the items will also be scanned and immediately returned to you.

We invite you to browse our virtual collection and get more information at www.muzejsusjedstvatresnjevka.org, and for any additional questions please contacts us at blok@blok.hr or via Facebook.
